The Hacienda, the legendary club that was the birthplace of the Mad Chester movement returns to Tokyo's club AIR to celebrate the release of both Vol. 2 and 3 of The Hacienda Mix Series. Legendary music pioneer A GUYY CALLED GERALD will be gracing the crowd with a very special live performance. The release party of the Japanese limited edition Mix CD Vo.1, which was compiled by Peter Hook of New Order, was a huge success with the crowd demanding more. At Summer Sonic 07, Peter Hook once again wow'd a crowd of over 7000 people at the K・SOUNDS stage. In November of last year Peter Hook
and The Hacienda crew came to Japan to promote the 'Hooky' produced
mix CD "The Hacienda Classics". Peter has since returned to spin at
Club Air in Tokyo to showcase his upcoming "Hacienda Mix". Owned by
New Order and Factory Records, The Hacienda was the most influential
club during the 'Madchester' era of the late 80's to mid 90's (it was
closed in 97). Along with supporting the local scene, it was the venue
for Madonna's first UK performance, the birthplace of house music,raves
and the second summer of love in the UK. While in Tokyo, Peter collaborated
with Japanese group NIRGILIS in a special club performance. There seems
to be no signs of slowing down for this living legend.
